Questions

Before you get started.

What uses an AI import credit?

A credit covers one AI processing attempt for a link, photo or pasted text. Automatic recovery within the same import does not use an extra credit. A result with no recipe still uses a credit; an AI service error returns it. Adding recipes by hand uses no credits.

Does it work when the recipe is only spoken in the video?

RecipeScoop reads written recipe text from the caption or page; it does not listen to or transcribe the video. When no recipe text is found, you may be offered a video bookmark to revisit later.

Do my recipes sync between iPhone and iPad?

With iCloud enabled and the same Apple Account on both devices, your saved recipes can sync through your private iCloud storage. Sync is on by default. You can turn it off in Settings and keep recipes on the device.

Can I edit a recipe if the AI got something wrong?

Yes. After saving, you can edit ingredients, steps, preparation and cooking times, and servings.

Does it work with paywalled recipe sites?

Public pages usually work when their recipe text is accessible. A login, paywall or site restriction can prevent an import. You can also paste recipe text or import a photo.

What happens to my recipes when Pro ends?

Your saved recipes stay, and you can keep viewing, editing and adding recipes by hand. After Pro expires, AI imports use any of your original free credits that remain. The free allowance does not reset.

Which recipe languages can I choose?

Choose Finnish, Swedish, English, German, Spanish or French for imported recipes. Translation happens during import; changing the language setting does not rewrite recipes you have already saved.

How does RecipeScoop use AI?

Before your first AI import, RecipeScoop asks for permission to send recipe text or photos to OpenAI for processing. Check the result before saving, since AI can make mistakes. You can also add recipes by hand without AI.

How will the planned Pro trial work?

We plan a 7-day trial on the yearly plan for eligible subscribers, then automatic renewal at €24.99 per year unless cancelled. No trial is planned for monthly billing. Final terms will appear in the app before you subscribe. For an Apple-billed trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends if you do not want to renew.
